About The Position

The Branch Manager at Sunwest Bank is a key leader responsible for overseeing the operations of the branch, driving growth in deposits and loans, and fostering strong relationships within the community. This role involves managing a team of retail associates, ensuring compliance with banking regulations, and achieving sales goals while providing exceptional service to clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business Administration) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' work experience directly related to branch processes and functions.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities to establish potential alternatives and solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Broad range of Bank and/or Savings Operational experience.
  • Highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to redirect priorities based upon current workload.
  • Excellent knowledge of consumer and business banking products.
  • Experience with Fiserv or other major core and reporting applications is desired.
  • Understanding of Windows-based personal computers and word processing/spreadsheet software, preferably Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Increase market share by building long-term relationships with local businesses.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate a team of dedicated banking professionals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of operations and identify opportunities to optimize processes and enhance service levels.
  • Lead the branch to achieve established sales goals by generating referral business, new accounts, and managing current clients' accounts.
  • Manage and be accountable for the branch office in meeting administrative, compliance, operational, sales, service, and profitability objectives.
  • Make regular business development calls to solicit new business (loans, deposits) and/or improve services to clients.
  • Oversee and/or train staff to provide clients with appropriate bank products and services.
  • Ensure that staff members provide continuous quality service to clients.
  • Represent the bank in the community through involvement in various civic and charitable activities.
  • Set annual personal performance plan/goals and weekly sales plan/goals for the branch staff.
  • Build/enhance business relationships with clients.
  • Arrange for appropriate training and cross-training of staff when needed.
  • Address and resolve human resource issues.
  • Oversee/monitor performance of operations staff to ensure all policies/procedures are compliant with bank guidelines.
  • Ensure a satisfactory branch audit is met.
  • Maintain safety and security for clients and team members.
