The Branch Manager's objective is to supervise and coordinate the activities of all staff at the branch, maintain a safe workplace environment, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and attract and retain qualified team members. The goal is to meet or exceed the annual EBIT, sales budget, and inventory goals while fulfilling the customers' expectations for supply of product and service.

  • Hire and supervise employees who meet all critical requirements and qualifications for each position.
  • Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure effective performance.
  • Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Communicate with employees regularly to ensure procedures are followed and new methods are implemented.
  • Appraise and document employee performance at regular intervals.
  • Meet with each employee at least once a year to formally review their performance.
  • Recommend pay increases based on performance.
  • Enforce company policies and procedures.
  • Counsel employees in work-related activities and personal growth.
  • Prepare reports for the Area Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Report work-related injuries of employees to the third-party administrator.
  • Work the parts counter weekly to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all walk-in customers are greeted immediately and assisted within 2 minutes.
  • Ensure all orders are filled at a rate of 100% accuracy.
  • Post all inventory receipts daily and invoice all sales daily.
  • Deposit all cash receipts in accordance with accounting instructions.
  • Process all vendor invoices according to accounting instructions.
  • Approve expenses within budget limits.
  • Lead sales meetings at least monthly.
  • Review territory EBIT and sales revenue to find new sales opportunities.
  • Maintain a top 25-customer list and visit at least 3 customers monthly.
  • Lead the development of product pricing strategy annually for each account.
  • Suggest additions or deletions to inventory and update catalogues quarterly.
  • Ensure all inventory reports are reviewed weekly and take corrective action on negative quantities.
  • Review branch accounts receivable aging weekly and coordinate collection efforts.
  • Establish preventive maintenance plans for equipment and conduct daily inspections.
  • Ensure annual physical inventory variances do not exceed 2% of total inventory value.
  • Maintain the branch appearance, including daily cleaning and restocking.
  • Ensure the third ring answers the telephone and all associates answer uniformly.
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Associate's Degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty truck parts industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
