About The Position
The Branch Manager at Airgas is responsible for overseeing all aspects of branch operations and ensuring profitability. This includes managing critical issues such as safety, sales growth, budgeting, gross margins, operating expenses, customer service, inventory management, and community relations. The role requires a hands-on approach to direct the daily operations of the retail branch, which encompasses safety protocols, retail sales, warehousing, and distribution activities. The Branch Manager will lead a diverse team that includes Counter Sales, Warehouse staff, Drivers, and Customer Service representatives, ensuring that all team members are effectively trained and adhere to company standards and safety regulations. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Branch Manager will assist in the development and execution of marketing plans aimed at penetrating key market segments. This collaboration will involve working closely with Sales and Operations teams as well as outside vendors to coordinate sales promotions, merchandising, and display opportunities. The role also includes managing inside sales, driving sales growth, and maintaining sales margins while collaborating with outside sales to ensure order accuracy and timely customer deliveries. The Branch Manager will be responsible for inventory management, including conducting daily hard goods inventory cycle counts and maintaining the appearance of the showroom and warehouse. They will oversee all aspects of hard goods receiving and ensure that dynamic deployment of inter-branch orders is completed in a timely manner. Additionally, the Branch Manager will lead the annual and bi-annual physical inventories and monitor various SAP reports to track open orders, billing, and delivery statuses. Daily cash reconciliation is also a key responsibility, ensuring that any issues are addressed prior to deposit. Overall, the Branch Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational success and profitability of the branch while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
