Check us out: https://virginiatile.com/ Position Summary: The Branch Manager is responsible for leading all operational aspects of the branch, including Pro Center operations, warehouse management, inventory control, and delivery coordination. This role drives operational performance, ensures a best-in-class customer experience, and develops a high-performing team. This is a working manager role requiring a hands-on, lead-from-the-front approach. The Branch Manager is expected to actively support daily warehouse operations as needed-including physical tasks-while maintaining overall leadership and accountability for branch performance. This leader will play a key role in the launch and ongoing success of the Pro Center, while ensuring warehouse operations remain efficient, safe, and accurate.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, retail, or operations environments
  • 3-5 years of direct people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety practices
  • Ability to perform physical job functions, including regular lifting, moving product, and working in a warehouse environment
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Hands-on leader who leads by example and drives accountability
  • Willingness to perform physical labor and daily warehouse tasks alongside the team
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator who collaborates well across teams

  • Experience in building materials, distribution, or contractor-focused environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across Pro Center, warehouse, and delivery functions
  • Work alongside team members to ensure workflows are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards
  • Monitor and drive performance against key metrics (inventory accuracy, productivity, service levels, safety)
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness
  • Oversee the launch and ongoing operations of the Pro Center
  • Ensure a high level of service for contractors and customers, including order accuracy and responsiveness
  • Partner with sales teams to support customer needs and drive growth
  • Support and oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping
  • Participate in operational tasks as needed, including creating customer orders, shipping/receiving freight, loading/unloading product, and putting away inventory
  • Maintain strong inventory control practices, including cycle counts and variance resolution
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all inbound and outbound shipments
  • Hire, train, and develop team members across Pro Center and warehouse operations
  • Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and manage performance
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
  • Actively promote and model safe work practices while performing warehouse duties
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable safety regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment
  • Ensure a positive and consistent customer experience across all touchpoints
  • Address and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner
