About The Position

The branch manager directs the overall activities of the branch to serve the employees and customers within the company’s target market in an extraordinary manner so that the company’s brand name and reputation continue to flourish. This position, with guidance from the JMS President, uses discretion and independent judgment to earn an acceptable rate of return and maintain a healthy cash flow. The branch manager develops the personnel of the branch. This position requires knowledge of crane rental, safety standards, business acumen, and people skills.

Requirements

  • Associates degree and equivalent industry experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years of management experience in a branch structure with at least one year as an assistant branch manager highly preferred.
  • Sound financial management skills
  • Technical capacity to provide crane and rigging solutions

  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent sales, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the operational teams within the Branch. Set clear goals, expectations, and performance targets. Foster a positive and high-performance work culture.
  • Safety Excellence: Foster a culture of Safety for our people by maintaining the company’s safety policies and procedures. Engage employees, address their concerns, and promote a mindset where safety is a shared value and responsibility. Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and hold employees accountable to company policy. Ensure that all branch personnel safely perform their job duties and that they take all reasonable precautions to avoid work-related accidents.
  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and manage operational teams within the Branch. Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities from either inside the Branch or from outside resources. Evaluate adequate staffing levels in the Branch and work with the JMS President on metrics. Have a regular presence at each job site of the Branch each month to ensure operational efficiency and excellence. Hire personnel who demonstrate an understanding of safe work practices and will commit to following the safety procedures of the TNT companies.
  • Performance Management: Establish and follow performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and targets for the Branch. Monitor and analyze performance data, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to drive performance excellence.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Collaborate with finance and the JMS President to develop and manage the budget for the Branch. Allocate resources effectively to support operational goals and ensure financial efficiency and responsibility.
  • Ensure that all branch personnel understand the overall company objectives as well as their individual objectives, and that they work together to achieve the stated objectives.
  • Ensure that accounting personnel understand branch objectives and that they provide the necessary information to achieve those objectives. Focus the branch on providing timely and accurate information in an understandable format.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company policies across the Branch. Identify and mitigate operational risks. Implement controls and monitoring mechanisms to maintain operational excellence. Ensure that operations personnel have the tools they need to perform their jobs satisfactorily, including training and equipment.
  • Customer Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies within the branch geographical area. Understand their needs, address concerns, and maintain strong partnerships to drive business success. Continue to take the pulse of clients through informal telephone conversations, lunch meetings, industry events, and formal customer satisfaction surveys. Ensure a quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation within the branch and actively share with other branches.
