General Purpose: Leader to direct personnel and overall operation of Branch, ensuring an exceptional member and employee experience. Perform duties in teller, member service and loan areas as required.

  • Direct daily Branch operation. May delegate portion of responsibilities, when necessary, but may not delegate overall responsibility for results nor any portion of accountability. Implement and execute all Market Vice President approved decisions.
  • Remain current on changes within the legal, regulatory, economic, competitive and technology environments that may affect the Teller, Member Services and Lending functions.
  • Assist Market Vice President and Human Resources with respect to recommendations for hires, terminations, promotions, transfers, performance appraisals, training and development, and interpretation of Credit Union rules and policies for department personnel. Conduct all personnel functions in accordance with¬ applicable statutes (e.g., EEO, OSHA, Fair Labor, etc.).
  • Maintain organizational structure established by President. Organize staff personnel into effective, efficient work groups. Ensure that direct reports are granted proper authority and responsibility to carry out assigned functions. Review work systems to reduce duplication of effort and unnecessary work.
  • Responsible for all security at Branch. Conduct security training on a semi-annual basis.
  • Responsible for ensuring the receipt, security, and maintenance of vault cash/change fund. Conduct periodic audits of cash drawers, bait money, vault, etc.
  • Direct, coach, and develop team members to ensure our ENGAGE model is being utilized and employee satisfaction is attained. Conduct regular team meetings, conduct observational coaching, and provide ongoing feedback through one-on-one employee meetings ensuring employees meet the expectations of member experience. Write and conduct timely performance appraisals.
  • Establish and maintain strong BHFCU presence in community. Build and maintain positive community relationships. Responsible for business development to support membership and loan growth.
  • Responsible for the development of department budget consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget.
  • Build positive relationships with local businesses by conducting company visits through business development activities.
  • Prepare standardized reports as directed by Market Vice President.
  • Responsible for ensuring an adequate supply of all operating materials used by assigned employees.
  • Perform teller, member service, and/or lending functions, as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring professional appearance of building, grounds, and internal workstations.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Market Vice President.

  • Knowledge of general ledger accounts pertinent to the department.

  • Knowledge of the credit union's in-house computer system, Internet and any relevant software programs.
  • Knowledge of management techniques to enhance staff productivity and to maintain positive staff morale.
  • Knowledge of safety and security programs to include but not limited to information security, alarms, robberies, bomb threats and extortion.
  • Knowledge and delivery of the ENGAGE model.
  • Vision: A sighted person to handle cash transactions and verify financial transactions. Ability to complete necessary paperwork.
  • Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, members and vendors.
  • Manual Dexterity: Ability to perform necessary computer-related input.
  • Physical Mobility: Limited mobility required.
  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to understand and follow moderately to complex written and verbal instructions and disseminate that knowledge in a clear and understandable format to others.

  • Education: a four-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
  • Experience: Two or more years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education provided the candidate has held equivalent responsibilities.
  • Ability to oversee operations for a branch responsible for under $50M in shares or loans.
  • Education: a four-year college level of language, math, and reasoning skills.
  • Experience: Three years’ experience in a related field with equal responsibilities is acceptable. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.
  • Ability to oversee operations for a branch responsible for $50M in shares or loans.
