In this role, you will be responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the Branch, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and overseeing the provision of a full range of services to members. You will ensure prompt and professional member service, and be responsible for training, directing, and supervising Branch staff. This includes managing daily operations, ensuring security, acting as a Loan Officer, handling cash controls, and maintaining effective business relations with members and external contacts. You will also manage expenses, seek operational improvements, prepare reports, and ensure proper maintenance of the branch facilities.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the Credit Union's field of membership.
  • Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products.
  • Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Branch functions, policies, and procedures.
  • At least five years of related experience in a financial institution.
  • A minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Well organized.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain an effective and efficient work flow.

Responsibilities

  • Directing and administering the operational efforts of the Branch.
  • Ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed.
  • Overseeing provision of a full range of services to members and prospective members.
  • Ensuring that members are promptly and professionally served.
  • Training, directing, and supervising Branch staff.
  • Performing a broad variety of member and employee services environment.
  • Supervising work scheduling and workflow of daily routine operations.
  • Ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring Branch security.
  • Opening and closing the building in accordance with set hours and testing security equipment.
  • Acting as a Loan Officer, processing and approving member loans within established policies and limits.
  • Supervising and assisting with member services functions.
  • Cross-selling Credit Union services.
  • Implementing changes to established policy and procedures within the Branch.
  • Assuming responsibility for maintaining the proper cash controls.
  • Ensuring that all Branch transactions are balanced at the close of each day.
  • Overseeing individual accountability for the handling of cash and assisting tellers in resolving balancing problems.
  • Controlling and handling daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Periodically verifying cash in possession of tellers and cash on the premises.
  • Effectively supervising Branch staff, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Providing leadership through effective goal setting and communication.
  • Directly supervising all Branch personnel.
  • Ensuring that high quality work and efficiency in operations are maintained.
  • Determining work methods and flow through assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
  • Conducting regular meetings with Branch employees to inform and train.
  • Discussing areas needing improvement and changes in procedure.
  • Conducting meetings with Branch management staff as needed to coordinate activities.
  • Ensuring that personnel are well trained in all phases of their respective jobs.
  • Completing orientation of new employees in overall Branch procedures.
  • Performing cross training as necessary.
  • Conducting security training.
  • Ensuring that personnel are effective and optimally used.
  • Determining appropriate staffing levels for proper utilization of human resources.
  • Tracking individual progress and conducting performance appraisals on each employee at least twice annually.
  • Formulating and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Recommending promotions for employees as appropriate.
  • Providing leadership training to employees seeking management opportunities.
  • Approving all sick leave, vacation, overtime, and time cards for each Branch employee.
  • Keeping accurate payroll and attendance records.
  • Assuming responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with members.
  • Ensuring that members' requests and questions are promptly resolved.
  • Handling members' complaints.
  • Ensuring that members are informed of Credit Union services and policies.
  • Counseling members regarding their financial needs and services requested.
  • Ensuring that the Credit Union's quality reputation is maintained and projected.
  • Assuming responsibility for the effective administration of Branch functions.
  • Ensuring that Branch operations are well coordinated with Credit Union accounting, loan processing, and credit functions.
  • Managing and overseeing expenses.
  • Pursuing cost-saving measures.
  • Continually seeking ways to improve Branch operations and productivity and to meet established goals.
  • Preparing periodic Branch activity reports and making recommendations to management for improvements.
  • Ensuring that proper maintenance and general housekeeping of the building, grounds, work areas, desks, and equipment is carried out, including snow and ice removal.
  • Ensuring that adequate supplies, forms, and equipment are available for personnel.
  • Instituting prudent safety measures.
  • Keeping management informed of Branch activities, progress toward established objectives, and of any significant problems.
  • Requesting assistance when necessary.
  • Approving checks, branch transactions, and loans within credit union policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that fees and refunds are handled in accordance with credit union guidelines.
  • Assuming responsibility for related functions as required or assigned.
  • Filling in and performing duties in Branch positions as needed.
  • Attending assigned meetings, training sessions and staying current on new operational procedures.
  • Assuming responsibility for ensuring that professional business relationships are established and maintained with outside business contacts and external insurance professionals.
  • Ensuring that the professional reputation of Cyprus Federal Credit Union is maintained both internally and externally.
  • Ensuring appropriate levels of security and confidentiality are maintained.
  • Acting as a principal representative of the Credit Union in contact with business and trade associations and external professionals.
  • Promoting the Credit Union's interests.
