The Branch Manager is responsible for full operational leadership of a traffic control branch, overseeing people, projects, equipment, safety, and customer service. This role requires a hands‑on leader with strong operational discipline who thrives in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment. You will own day‑to‑day execution, ensure resources are in place to support job success, and drive accountability across labor, fleet, equipment, and customer delivery while maintaining high service standards.

Requirements

  • Operations or management experience in traffic control, MOT, construction, or related field.
  • FDOT Advanced MOT and/or ATSSA certification (required or ability to obtain).
  • Strong knowledge of MUTCD and FDOT standards.
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, field‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily branch operations including labor management, job execution, scheduling, and field supervision.
  • Ensure crews are properly staffed, trained, equipped, and compliant with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor operations to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Push operational capacity while maintaining safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee all branch equipment, vehicles, tools, and inventory including MOT devices, barrier wall systems, attenuators, generators, compressors, and rental equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is staged for upcoming projects and removed promptly when jobs are complete.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and parts procurement to minimize downtime.
  • Order shop supplies, tools, equipment parts, and rental equipment as needed.
  • Maintain current registrations, tags, insurance, and titles for vehicles and equipment.
  • Enforce compliance with MUTCD, FDOT, ATSSA, and company safety standards.
  • Oversee incident reporting, documentation, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all branch operations.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll.
  • Create weekly operations reports and review key performance metrics.
  • Review monthly invoices, fleet expenses, and credit card statements for accuracy.
  • Address ticket discrepancies and resolve customer billing issues.
  • Support pre‑construction planning through job reviews, material takeoffs, and equipment planning.
  • Visit jobsites regularly and attend customer and pre‑construction meetings.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational or customer service issues.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and discipline.
  • Develop supervisors and crews to improve performance, accountability, and retention.
  • Ensure managers are effectively managing employees, equipment, schedules, and customer expectations.
