About The Position

The Branch Manager is responsible for directing the overall activities of the branch to continually and simultaneously serve the customers within the company’s target market in an extraordinary manner so that the company’s brand name and reputation continue to flourish. This position works to earn an acceptable rate of return on sales after incentive compensation and maintain a healthy cash flow. Additionally, the Branch Manager invests time and money in personnel development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 5 years in the Electrical Distribution industry
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/etc.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to function as a team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Must be detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • College degree(s) preferred
  • 2 years of supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing a business plan to maximize net profit and return on sales
  • Developing a branch budget and sales forecast while monitoring actual performance to ensure the branch achieves its objectives
  • Working with the VP of Sales to implement and drive the company sales strategy within the branch geography as well as with corporate accounts
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers and vendors
  • Monitoring customer service and addressing customer concerns, issues, and complaints
  • Ensuring a quick and proper response to all reasonable customer requests
  • Ensuring that all branch personnel understand their individual objectives as well as the company’s objectives, and that they have the necessary tools and resources to achieve these objectives
  • Monitoring all branch activities to ensure compliance with government regulations and organizational policies and procedures
  • Developing, implementing, and driving objectives for inventory turns to minimize obsolete and overstocked products
  • Ensuring that all branch personnel perform their job duties in a safe manner and that they take all reasonable precautions to avoid work-related incidents
  • Holding regular and frequent safety discussions and meetings to continually reinforce the safety message
  • Helping to resolve conflicting objectives and reinforce respectful communication between all departments
