About The Position

We are seeking a Branch Manager to support daily operations, lead branch staff, and help drive the financial, service, and growth goals of our Credit Union. In this role, you will coordinate and guide personnel at our Christiansburg branch location while partnering closely with leadership to ensure strong performance, compliance, and member satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Experience: Three to five years of related experience in financial services, banking, or a similar environment.
  • Education: One of the following
  • Associate degree
  • Specialized certification or licensing
  • Completion of vendor-led training programs
  • Equivalent job-specific skills gained through an apprenticeship or similar pathway
  • Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, influence, and train others
  • Ability to build relationships with members and external partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret financial statements, contracts, applications, and related documents
  • Maintain full compliance with all federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and OFAC requirements.
  • Meet or exceed performance expectations outlined in the Essential Functions and Responsibilities and annual performance goals.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Work performed in an indoor office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional travel to other branch locations may be required.
  • Monday - Friday; Some Saturdays
  • All team members may be required to work one half-day Saturday per month.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Leadership & Member Service (35%) – Lead an effective, consultative sales process that supports excellent member service. Coach staff to identify member needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union products and services.
  • Account Opening & Lending Support (25%) – Open new accounts and submit loan applications for processing and decisioning. Communicate loan outcomes to members and ensure a smooth, positive experience.
  • Branch Compliance & Operational Oversight (15%) – Monitor all branch activity to ensure compliance with regulations and adherence to organizational policies. Oversee branch security, transaction accuracy, loan documentation, new accounts, and error resolution.
  • Staff Training & Performance (10%) – Train new team members, prepare work schedules, and monitor performance. Ensure employees meet or exceed established goals and service expectations.
  • Branch Management Support (10%) – Serve as acting branch manager in the absence of the Vice President Branch Manager, ensuring continuity of operations and service.
  • Additional Duties (5%) – Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
