About The Position

United Rentals is seeking a Branch Manager to lead and motivate a team across various roles including sales, service, maintenance, and drivers. The role involves ensuring excellent customer service and building a profitable branch through business and management skills. United Rentals, founded in 1997, is the world's largest equipment rental company, operating an integrated network of rental locations across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, including 49 U.S. states, every Canadian province, and Puerto Rico. The company provides the necessary tools, technology, and support to succeed in the role, contributing to community building through equipment provision.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of successful business management experience with profit and loss responsibility at a branch or other individual profit center
  • An understanding of business accounting principles and budget preparation
  • Strong sales and customer service experience required
  • Effective leadership, motivational, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Outside sales experience preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in the equipment rental industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall branch operations to ensure safety, productivity, customer service and profitability
  • Oversee sales efforts and business initiatives
  • Prepare reports, including profit and loss statements, monthly operating reviews, yearly budgets and other reports detailing operational status
  • Manage personnel matters
  • Oversee all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations and drug and alcohol testing
  • Other duties assigned as needed
