As a Retail In-Store Branch Manager at Michigan First Credit Union, you will lead a team in delivering exceptional service to members while managing branch operations. This role emphasizes building relationships, providing personalized financial solutions, and ensuring a positive branch environment. You will be responsible for motivating your team, coordinating services, and enhancing operational efficiency, all while maintaining high service standards.

  • Serve as a motivational leader and share expertise in lending, investments, and banking products with members and team.
  • Provide stellar service to Credit Union members and potential members.
  • Manage the details of deposit, lending, and member services functions according to policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Lending to ensure efficient lending services.
  • Teach and inspire team members, building a cohesive team and enhancing individual skills.
  • Research and recommend new or improved products and services based on customer feedback.
  • Develop plans to increase efficiency in material, machine, and team member operations.
  • Oversee reporting and analysis of branch accounting reports and schedules required by headquarters or regulatory agencies.
  • Support the Credit Union in promoting products and services, leading team members in these efforts.
  • Ensure the branch image reflects a sound and secure financial institution.
  • Must have an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training in a financial institution.
  • Thorough knowledge of lending processes and experience with financial institution products and services.
  • Exceptional conversational skills and ability to engage with members and potential members.
  • Strong critical thinking skills for problem identification and resolution.
  • Experience in coaching and evaluating team members' sales and service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in-person and through email.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and governmental regulations.
  • Must be certified as a Notary Public.
  • Experience in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Ability to operate all systems to access the credit union's accounting system and member account information.
