About The Position

The Branch Manager II at Umpqua Bank is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, achieving growth goals, and developing store associates. This role involves managing a complex retail banking store, maintaining client relationships, and overseeing the operational efficiency of the branch. The manager will also be involved in consumer and small business lending, sales promotions, and compliance with banking regulations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience in banking and finance, business, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of supervisory/management experience in retail banking.
  • Active membership in community organizations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and other banking software.
  • Effective training and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated sales skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of retail services and products, with consumer and small business lending experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, or training others.
  • Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and achieve growth goals.
  • Manage a large-sized, complex store with core deposits above $60 million or a smaller store with Small Business Advisor certification.
  • Originate consumer and small business lending credits up to $250,000.
  • Implement sales and promotional programs to meet or exceed goals.
  • Facilitate integrated delivery of financial services and products by referring customers to appropriate departments.
  • Drive growth activities for the store, focusing on consumer and small business opportunities.
  • Manage the selection, placement, performance, development, promotion, and termination of store associates.
  • Coach and mentor associates in required skills and technical expertise.
  • Ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and quality standards are met.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures regarding banking regulations.
