About The Position

UVA Community Credit Union is seeking a Branch Manager to direct the daily activities of the branch, focusing on coaching staff to build strong financial relationships with members and developing branch staff to meet sales and service goals. The position involves risk management through adherence to established policies and procedures. The Branch Manager role is tiered into Branch Manager I and II, with placement based on experience and compensation commensurate with that experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of branch management or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingual English & Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Approachable and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technically savvy.
  • Sales oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and maintain a highly motivated and well-trained staff while maintaining effective employee relations.
  • Support hiring efforts of qualified applicants.
  • Lead effective sales and service meetings for both consumer and business product lines.
  • Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures for branch operations.
  • Manage branch-level operational processes, including audits.
  • Evaluate job performance of branch staff to ensure quality of work and service.
  • Schedule and cross-train staff to ensure effective branch succession.
  • Conduct loan interviews and originate consumer loans.
  • Originate home equity loans and register as a home equity loan officer.
  • Monitor branch activity including transactions, teller errors, loan volume, and product sales.
  • Represent the Credit Union at community networking events.
  • Conduct outside sales efforts to bring in new relationships.
  • Manage the security and safety of the branch.
  • Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems.
  • Provide recommendations for operational efficiencies and product enhancements.
  • Manage branch subordinates and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
