About The Position

As a Branch Logistics Coordinator reporting to the Branch Manager this individual is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments and deliveries to ensure product moves efficiently, accurately, and on time. This role partners closely with Sales, Warehouse, and Delivery Drivers to build optimized loads, route trucks effectively, and release orders based on inventory availability and delivery priorities. This position requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer expectations with operational realities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • 2 + years of experience in logistics, order fulfillment or related field.
  • Strong understanding of distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Proficient with inventory, order management, and routing systems.
  • High level of product knowledge or ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and make real-time decisions, problem solving ability in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in computer systems such as Microsoft Office, Solar Eclispe, Innovo etc.
  • Must be an effective communicator across Sales, Warehouse, and Driver teams.
  • Working knowledge of safety in the warehouse and demonstrates safe work practices.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift in performance of order filling duties when required such as load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment as required.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to drive a range of vehicles, from small pick-up truck to 2-ton/5-speed flatbed diesel truck.
  • Must be 21 years of age to meet auto insurance requirements.
  • Must have experience using RF devices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare shipping documentation, coordinate daily outbound shipments and deliveries and track to ensure on time delivery.
  • Build efficient truck loads based on product type, weight, size, and delivery sequence
  • Optimize shipments to reduce partial loads, freight costs, and delivery delays
  • Inspect outgoing orders for accuracy and completeness before dispatch.
  • Address and resolve order discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods promptly.
  • Route company trucks and coordinate daily dispatch schedules
  • Adjust routes and delivery plans based on volume, staffing, weather, and customer needs
  • Communicate clearly with drivers regarding routes, priorities, and special instructions
  • Review customer orders for accuracy, completeness, and inventory availability and enter into the system
  • Release orders for picking and shipping based on inventory levels and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate with Sales and Purchasing when inventory constraints or substitutions arise
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of branch product lines and packaging requirements
  • Understand how product characteristics impact loading, handling, and transportation
  • Monitor stock levels and collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure product availability
  • Flag inventory concerns that may impact fulfillment timelines
  • Use RF machinery for picking, receiving, put-away, and load functions as required
  • Partner with Warehouse to align picking, staging, and loading priorities
  • Communicate proactively with Sales on delivery timing, constraints, or exceptions
  • Support Branch and Warehouse Managers with operational planning and problem-solving
  • Identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, load optimization, and delivery processes
  • Support branch growth by helping scale logistics processes as volume increases
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operates Company vehicle safely and courteously while following the rules of the road.
  • Verifies the daily preventative maintenance of the vehicle and report any problems with the vehicle to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Interior of the trucks must be kept clean, organized, and safely maintained.
  • Complies with all DOT requirements and company policy regarding safety and compliance.
  • Pre-plans deliveries and routes to ensure maximum efficiency and timing deadlines.
  • Manifests jobs in the sequence of order delivery to ensure prompt notifications to our customers.
  • Compares paperwork with product on truck to ensure accuracy of orders
  • Inspects and secures all loads on truck.
  • Responsible for loading product (using both a forklift and hand loading) onto trucks, including items such as boxes, ladders, strut, etc.
  • Responsible for hand unloading and delivering products/orders to specified job sites as part of a multi-stop route.
  • Taking pictures of deliveries made using Innovo phone app.
  • Makes note of any discrepancies and report them to the Warehouse Manager as soon as possible.
  • Responsible for promptly picking up any return product (as needed) and ensuring that the product is delivered to the appropriate department for processing.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
