About The Position

Airgas is Hiring for a Branch Cylinder Filler in Evansville, IN! We are looking for you! As a Gas Cylinder Operator, you will be responsible for safely loading cylinders onto vehicles, conducting inspections, and efficiently filling cylinders with gasses. Your attention to detail will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining accurate records. Safely operate equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders. Conduct pre-fill and post-fill inspections, ensuring cylinders meet safety standards before release. Perform regular maintenance checks on pumping apparatus and pressure gauges. Fill cylinders to the appropriate pressure or weight. Maintain accurate cylinder filling records and adhere to all regulations. Sort and inspect empty cylinders for refill, following daily production plans. Load and unload compressed gas and liquid cylinders from shuttle vehicles. Keep the plant clean and orderly, contributing to end-of-day shutdown procedures. Comply with all state and federal laws, regulations, and safety procedures. Promptly report any accidents or injuries to management. Operate forklifts and warehouse equipment as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in industrial operations is a plus.
  • Previous experience in plant operations, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Capable of working independently and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime if required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse personalities.
  • Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform work while standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various climate conditions.
