Job Description As a Japanese Language Branch Banking Student Intern, you will: Gain hands‑on experience solving real business needs and building foundational business acumen Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced branch leaders and team members Have the opportunity to attend social, professional development, and networking events Shadow staff across multiple functional roles within the branch Participate in customer interactions and routine financial transactions Learn customer engagement best practices in a retail banking environment Support client communication and service, including Japanese‑language interactions when appropriate Apply Japanese language skills in real customer scenarios and build confidence using Japanese in a professional setting Develop an understanding of banking policies, financial principles, and regulatory requirements Contribute to community engagement and outreach efforts Additional responsibilities may include performing simple, routine, or repetitive clerical tasks according to standard procedures or instructions; responding to routine customer inquiries; answering incoming telephone calls and either resolving basic questions or directing callers to the appropriate resource; and supporting other clerical duties as assigned. Interns may also assist with community events, engagement opportunities, and outreach activities tied to branch and local market initiatives.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Conversationally proficient in Japanese and English
