Upon successful completion of training, This position will work 12 hour shifts 6:30 pm to 6:30 am Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is an attendance pay of 4 hours for working 36 hours. Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Brake Operator position in the Global Utility Division. Requirements

  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • The ability to program and re-set the Press Brake and troubleshoot operating malfunctions
  • The ability to read and decipher blue prints and flat sheets without assistance
  • The ability to certify for overhead crane
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
  • Must have a high awareness for safety at all times

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Six months of previous experience operating a brake press
  • One year of previous experience reading and interpreting blueprints and flat sheets in a professional environment
  • The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Responsibilities

  • Enter the necessary data into the Press Brake computer to operate the machine accurately
  • Complete required reports and record the appropriate date with accuracy
  • Ensure a high standard product by inspecting all produced work for quality
  • Operate a minimum of two press brakes, one that is numerically controlled and one manual machine
  • Demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures
  • Bend pole trapezoids and/or parts by using the magnetic crane to move the material and Brake press to complete the projects
  • Operate an overhead crane
