About The Position

Summary: Able to operate various types and sizes of hand or power brakes, bending and forming sheet metal parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:Ability to operate various types of machines: Sizing, planisher and power brakes.Operates power brake to form various types of flat metal stock such as banding, making joggles, and angle bends.May finish-form partially formed punch press, hydro press, and drop hammer parts.Recognizes improper functioning of press and reports condition to supervisors.Assist other operators as needed.Performs rework, repair and other associated operations described.Ability to troubleshoot.Follow all Senior policies and procedure.Other duties as assigned. In addition to the above, Brake Operators are to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area using safety standards and expectations while adhering to all quality practices. Requirements

• High School Degree or General Education Degree; or 1-2 years of related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types and sizes of hand or power brakes to bend and form sheet metal parts.
• Operate machines such as sizing, planisher, and power brakes.
• Form flat metal stock using a power brake, including banding, joggles, and angle bends.
• Finish-form parts from punch press, hydro press, and drop hammer operations.
• Identify and report any malfunctions of the press to supervisors.
• Assist other operators as needed.
• Perform rework, repair, and other associated operations.
• Troubleshoot issues.
• Follow all Senior policies and procedures.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
