About The Position

The position of Brake and Tire Specialist for Exotics Racing at SpeedVegas is responsible for keeping vehicles running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Brake and Tire Specialists will typically work on maintaining high- performance vehicles by changing brake pads and brake rotors along with replacement of tires. The Brake and Tire Specialist tests the cars to ensure they are operating correctly and identify potential problems; also works on high performance steering and suspension, drivelines, electrical and ignition systems.

Requirements

  • Perform complex diagnostic procedures on all vehicle systems

  • A Mechanic has earned at least a high school diploma or GED with additional course work through a technical trade school, community college or junior college
  • An understanding of diagnostic testing equipment is critical
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory and complexities of automotive technology, care and operation of internal combustion engines as well as electric hybrids, current repair methods, materials and tools; applicable state and federal requirements; all aspects of metal fabrication; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; safety precautions to be observed in the maintenance and installation of electronic and mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
  • Knowledge of computers and technology related to the high-performance vehicles operating in our Fleet, including but not limited to: circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming of this equipment
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and determining best approach to an efficient, long-term and safe repair
  • Quality Control Analysis: Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Equipment Selection: Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred four years as a apprentice-level mechanic in a commercial, industrial, or facilities operations setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintains vehicle functionality by conducting inspections, replacing parts, components and repairing body damage; Tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Stays on top of industry trends and job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Seeks to meet organizational mission at an individual level through partnering with supervisory staff and communicating goals
  • Manage and secure confidential information
  • Ensures the shop and work area are maintained
