The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach by maintaining the program’s overall level of excellence, the physical and spiritual development of players, and its reputation within the community, the conference, and the IHSA. Essential duties include coaching varsity or junior varsity players, attending all regular season and post-season practices and games, serving as a Christian role model to students, demonstrating Christ-like behavior, attending team devotions and leading devotions periodically, and continuing to pursue growth in skills as a position coach by learning from other coaching staff and attending coaching clinics. The Assistant Coach will also use requisite technology independently to perform coaching instructional and program operational duties, assist with team excursions, community and school service activities, college recruiting, and summer camp operations. Assistant coaches are assigned select roles by the head varsity coach, which could include coaching, communication, and program operations.
