About The Position

The Boys Basketball Coach for Grade 9 at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School is responsible for leading and developing the basketball program for ninth-grade students during the 2025-2026 school year. The position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.

Requirements

• NJ Instructional Certification.
• Successful experience coaching basketball.
• Experience as a player in the sport is preferred.
• Completion of Principles of Coaching Course and current CPR/AED Certificate preferred but must be willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies.
• Provide instruction and guidance to student-athletes in basketball skills and techniques.
• Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude among players.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during practices and games.
