About The Position

As a Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods from the distribution center, Warehouses or our manufacturing facility to local business or customers within a specified area. You will operate a non-CDL, DOT-regulated box truck, ensuring that all deliveries are made promptly and accurately while adhering to traffic and safety regulations and all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and FMCSA requirements. Requirements

  • Valid divers License with a clean driving record. Pass Routine Motor Vehicle Report check.
  • This is a non-CDL position; a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required.
  • Ability to meet DOT driver qualification requirements applicable to non-CDL drivers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
  • Ability to pass DOT-required drug and alcohol testing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role, preferably with box truck experience.
  • Excellent navigational skills and knowledge of local roads and neighborhoods. Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weeknights, weekends and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and endurance to withstand long hours of driving and manual labor

Responsibilities

  • Transportation of Goods: Drive non-CDL, DOT-regulated box trucks to deliver various goods, packages, or products to designated locations within the tri-state area.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload cargo from the truck, ensuring that items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery records, including receipts, delivery confirmations, driver logs (as applicable), DVIRs, and any other DOT-required documentation.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and ensuring that deliveries are made according to their requirements.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the box truck such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, routine servicing, and overall vehicle condition including required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and completion of Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
  • Safety Compliance & DOT Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating the truck, including wearing seatbelts, following proper loading, and unloading procedures, and complying with applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations, including hours-of-service requirements.
  • Drug & Alcohol Compliance (NEW): Participate in the company’s DOT drug and alcohol testing program, including pre-mployment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing, as applicable.
  • Medical Certification (NEW): Maintain a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate, as required.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address issues or concerns that may arise during the delivery process.
