About The Position

Englert has been the gold standard and a leading manufacturer of metal roofing and gutter systems. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The Driver will be responsible for safely transporting full trailer loads from our Perth Amboy location to our Somerset location multiple times daily. Occasional assistance in offloading materials may be required. As a Box Truck Driver, you will be reporting directly to the warehouse manager. Requirements

  • Good knowledge of the surrounding routes.
  • Ability to handle occasional offloading assistance.
  • Strong commitment to safety and timely delivery.
  • Excellent communication and accountability skills.
  • No recent moving or driving violations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Two years driving experience.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Depending on size of Box Truck Class A-B, or medical card-Class A preferred
  • Active Medical Card.
  • Two years driving experience.
  • Prolonged periods of driving
  • Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds with assistance. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment
  • Perform tasks such as lifting 15 pounds at a time, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up work in a loud/noisy, and industrial, high-volume environment
  • Physical ability to walk and stand on concrete for the duration of the work shift, in increments of up to 6-8 hours.

Responsibilities

  • Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
  • Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
  • Meet delivery schedules
  • Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
  • Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
  • Collect and verify delivery instructions
  • Pickup full trailer loads from one location and delivers them to destination location on a daily basis.
  • Ensure timely and safe delivery of all loads.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all deliveries.
  • Occasional help with offloading materials at delivery sites.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic regulations.
  • Report defects, accidents, or violations
