About The Position

The Box Office Administrator is responsible for overseeing the strategic management of box office operations across multiple venues or large-scale events. This role involves direct supervision of staff, developing long-term strategies to enhance ticket sales and revenue generation, and collaborating with marketing teams to create targeted campaigns. The position requires a strong focus on financial analysis, budgeting, and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in coliseum, arena, auditorium, theatre or stadium box office operations.
  • Three (3) years of management or supervisory responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of professional and major amateur sports and entertainment events.
  • Knowledge of ticket selling and box office operations.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computerized ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute long-term strategies to enhance ticket sales and revenue generation.
  • Provide comprehensive reports and analyses to executive leadership highlighting key performance indicators and strategic insights.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make adjustments as needed to achieve organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotions.
  • Ensure event presales, on-sales, promotions, discounts, and special sales are correctly set up in the ticketing system.
  • Oversee the development of event pricing, scaling plans, manifest creation, and pricing structure.
  • Represent the City of San Antonio at meetings, events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including event promoters, sponsors, and vendors.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for box office operations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of box office managers and senior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Negotiate contracts.
