About The Position

Cimarron is seeking a senior-level Boundary Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract at either the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL, or Schriever Space Force base in Colorado Springs, CO.

Requirements

  • Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include, but is not limited to, testing for marijuana use.
  • This position requires access to federal facilities. Candidates must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.   • Active Secret Clearance (or higher).
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex., Security +).
  • 10 or more years of general, full-time work experience. May be reduced with completion of advanced education.
  • 5 or more years of directly related experience.
  • 1 or more years of experience working in a management or leadership position.
  • Direct experience configuring and managing F5 load balancers.
  • Direct experience administering Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).
  • Experience operating and maintaining web proxy solutions.
  • Working knowledge of the OSI model and IP protocol stack.
  • Experience with network switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) as applied to platforms such as Cisco, Citrix NetScaler, and Firepower.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assessing and documenting test or analysis data to demonstrate cybersecurity compliance.
  • Experience working within the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
  • Familiarity with isolated network security best practices.
  • Current CISSP certification or DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification.
  • Proficiency supporting Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities under the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG).
  • Experience operating within a Zero Trust architecture environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network perimeter infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related network devices.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Plan, configure, and maintain firewall infrastructure to ensure secure and reliable network operations.
  • Monitor network performance at the perimeter and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution related to perimeter and edge devices.
  • Implement and maintain network security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) components and services.
  • Ensure network infrastructure compliance with industry standards, security frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support business applications and enterprise services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
