About The Position

The Duckhorn Portfolio is North America’s premier luxury wine company. We were established in 1976 by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn. Today, our portfolio features some of North America’s most revered wineries, including Decoy, Paraduxx, Goldeneye, Migration, Canvasback, Calera, Kosta Browne, Sonoma-Cutrer, Greenwing and Postmark. Our team at Geyserville Winery is looking for Bottling Technician III, responsible for advanced operation and oversight of high-speed bottling and packaging lines, ensuring safe operations, consistent product quality, and optimal line performance. This role serves as a technical expert on the line, proactively identifying and resolving mechanical, quality, and process issues while supporting continuous improvement efforts and mentoring less experienced technicians.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • High speed packaging environment experience
  • 3+ years of bottling line equipment operation.
  • Able to communicate and understand English.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Reliability and attendance are a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, Six Sigma or other Lean Manufacturing environments desired.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains extensive operational knowledge of highly automated machinery, including HMI & Robotic equipment.
  • Provides detailed observations of equipment functionality supporting to resolve of complex malfunctions on bottling line equipment, (i.e., all machinery within production line).
  • Provides high level validation of all incoming material inventory.
  • Maintains strong understanding of clean in place (CIP) skid, ability to perform daily start up and shutdown line sanitation process.
  • Inputs all data entry for computer-based systems, production monitoring and line quality, performance checks.
  • Meets and exceeds packaging quality, equipment change over, operational downtime, department performance metrics on a regular basis.
  • Follows work orders for current and upcoming wine tank in place/wine tank transfers.
  • Supports and maintains department 5’s program including unscheduled changes.
  • Analyzes production processes to identify areas of improvement, suggest changes to increase line efficiency and output.
  • Executes daily production schedule, including unscheduled changes.
  • Supports and maintains compliance with food safety and quality management systems by reporting quality problems as they arise.
  • Maintains a clean and organized working environment.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties upon request.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, orderly, and clean working environment; tidy up work areas throughout shift/workday.
  • Train staff on safety policies and guidelines for personal and guest safety.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures for the department as well as general safety protocols.
  • Conduct and participates in safety training.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Practice good environmental practices across the site.
  • Promptly communicate all safety near misses, injuries, and safety concerns to management.
  • Promotes and upholds all safety procedures (PPE’s) within the bottling department, identifying and addressing potential risks.
