About The Position

The Bottling Line Lead is responsible for directing the operation of all bottling equipment and personnel on the line to maximize safety, quality/food safety, and efficiencies. This position requires following all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Food Safety rules and regulations. The Bottling Line Lead will train new employees, support the team by rotating breaks, troubleshoot equipment problems, and fill in for employees as needed. This role does not have direct reports.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • 4 years of related experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment.
  • 2 years Forklift experience required.
  • Ability to use common hand tools.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention is required to perform duties, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
  • Advance mathematics skills required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and perform complex division calculations.
  • Advanced computer skills and the ability to learn new job-related software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be respectful and work well with all levels of personnel.
  • Must be able to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice basis.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), working at heights and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes and chemical or require personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical, trade school courses or certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Verify line setup is ready and product is released by start of shift.
  • Make sure all valves and pumps are set correctly to pull correct product into bottling tanks.
  • Verify line setup and speeds are set to standard and monitor throughout the day.
  • Validate correct production schedules are being ran.
  • Stop production for quality or food safety issues as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring the lines are properly staffed, notify the Supervisor of any employee issues or recommended future schedule changes.
  • Coordinate work assignments, monitor performance, and provide training on relevant job duties.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Work closely with Supervisor to complete daily schedules and get approval on any shortages or changes of the schedule immediately.
  • Ensure that the line(s) is/are running efficiently throughout the shift and assist with changeovers.
  • Receive packaging materials, close production orders, verify cases produced, enter efficiencies and down time into database and run reports.
  • At the end of the shift make sure paperwork is collected and is in order, ensure all equipment is shut down properly.
  • Use safety cutters and hand tools within safety guidelines.
  • Follow all safety rules to include but not limited to LOTO and keep area clean and in orderly condition.
  • Responsible for food product quality and safety.
