About The Position

The Bothell Campus Environmental Manager will lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at Pfizer's Bothell campus. This role focuses on driving resource conservation, impact reduction programs, and ensuring adherence to environmental regulations. The manager will collaborate with various teams to develop a progressive environmental program that supports scientific innovation while maintaining a culture of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) excellence.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with ten years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with eight years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with at least five years of experience; OR a Master's degree with more than three years of experience; OR a Ph.D. with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Relevant industry experience in a large academic institution, pharmaceutical R&D, or biotechnology setting.
  • Active membership in a relevant professional body, ideally with a formal continuous professional development requirement.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and jurisdictional environmental regulations and their applicability to campus environmental program management.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle competing priorities under pressure.

  • Education in Environmental Management or Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • Certified Environmental Professional with continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain site EHS compliance and risk registers, ensuring all regulatory and company environmental policies are identified.
  • Monitor local, federal, and company environmental requirements, communicating changes to key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and renew environmental permit applications and required reporting for air, water, wastewater, and hazardous waste.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of environmental reporting and participate in governance review processes.
  • Lead environmental risk assessments to evaluate and manage the impact of changes on emissions controls.
  • Develop environmental technical programs, including performance monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Notify and investigate environmental incidents, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct periodic self-assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with business lines and engineering teams to drive sustainability action plans.
  • Manage contract services provided by hazardous waste vendors, ensuring performance and accountability.
