Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data on Michigan's rare plant species and natural communities.
  • Maintain and update Michigan's Natural Heritage Database.
  • Collaborate with MNFI personnel, Tribal organizations, and public/private agencies.
  • Inform and guide decisions impacting biodiversity conservation.
  • Assist with projects requiring expertise in plant and natural community identification.
  • Apply for external funding and serve as principal investigator on MNFI projects.
  • Conduct substantial field data collection during the growing season.
  • Manage and analyze data related to ecological research.
  • Engage in scientific writing and outreach/education activities.
