About The Position

The Welder I position at Brunswick Corporation, specifically within the Boston Whaler division, is designed for individuals who possess a solid foundation in metal fabrication and fitment, particularly in the context of constructing new product mold tooling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in tooling mold construction, which encompasses various aspects such as steel bracing and welding. The molds constructed in this role are critical to the production process and include components like hulls, liners, decks, small parts, fixtures, and other production support equipment. This position is integral to ensuring that the molds meet the defined specifications and quality standards set by Boston Whaler and its customer base. In this role, the Welder I will be responsible for the construction of molds according to the methods outlined in tooling manuals. This includes maintaining proper documentation throughout all phases of the mold building process. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to quality and safety standards, ensuring that all work is performed in compliance with company policies and procedures. The ability to work collaboratively with other employees, supervisors, and managers is essential, as is the capacity to support departmental initiatives aimed at maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. The work environment is primarily shop floor-based, which is non-climate controlled and subject to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Employees will frequently encounter high temperatures, especially during summer months, and must be prepared for moderate noise levels with occasional spikes. Safety is a priority, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. The role requires physical stamina, as employees will need to stand or walk for extended periods and perform various physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 35 pounds. Overall, this position offers a dynamic work environment where individuals can grow their skills and contribute to innovative marine solutions.
