The Bore Operator at HHS Construction, a Congruex company, is a full-time position responsible for operating Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) equipment specifically for telecommunications projects. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and communication, as the Bore Operator will be working closely with project managers and crew members to ensure successful job execution. The operator will be tasked with the regular maintenance and care of the directional drill and locating equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition before and during operations. In addition to operating the drill, the Bore Operator will be responsible for setting up and breaking down the equipment at job sites, as well as performing various pipe configurations for underground utility installations. A critical aspect of this role is to drill near active utilities while avoiding any marked utilities, implementing all pre-drilling precautions to prevent utility strikes. The operator must communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job details and delegate duties to crew members as necessary. The position demands physical stamina, as the operator must be able to stand for over 10 hours a day and lift materials weighing over 50 pounds. The Bore Operator may also be required to work on-call, including evenings and weekends, depending on project needs. This role is essential for ensuring that telecommunications infrastructure is installed safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of HHS Construction's projects.
