About The Position

The Borderlands and Migration Director is responsible for engaging constituents and partner churches in issues related to the Mexico/US border and migration. This role involves relationship-building, educational workshops, presentations, and direct resourcing to support migrating peoples and advocate for immigrant justice. The Director will oversee local partnerships and lead the work of Borderlands and Migration throughout the West Coast region, focusing on program partnerships and community engagement.

Requirements

• Associates degree with 3-5 years experience in immigration, migration, and borderlands work.
• Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
• Strong communication skills and skills in budgeting, record-keeping, and report writing.
• Proficiency in MS Office and managing databases.
• Ability to develop and guide working relationships with partners.

Nice To Haves

• Training and experience in community engagement.
• 3-5 years experience with multi-cultural relationship building, especially with Latinx immigrants.
• Bachelor's degree in migration or related field.
• International living or cross-cultural experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate relationships with partners and oversee project partnerships related to migration.
• Nurture ongoing relationships with partners to support the needs of asylum-seekers and migrating peoples.
• Coordinate and facilitate educational workshops and training related to migration and immigrant justice.
• Participate in regional and national conferences to represent MCC and engage in shared learning.
• Supervise the Borderlands and Migration Assistant.
