About The Position

Ensures 100% donor and customer delight. Customer Service must be #1 priority. TLC must resolve all customer complaints within 2 business days. Ensures and provides open and honest communication that encourages that all team members do not place themselves, donors or customers in harm s way. Communicates and supports Goodwill s drug-free workplace, strives for and maintains a positive work environment following Goodwill s Core Values and Guiding Principles. Understands represents Goodwill s zero tolerance for harassment, substance abuse, workplace violence, failure to report medical incidents (work or non-work related), and theft or other related offenses. Personally, or through Assistant Team Leaders, holds primary responsibility for training, and supervising team members. Must be able to conduct hands-on training and be proficient and meet the physical requirements in the performance of every GGC Bookstore job. The TLC is expected to be a hands-on leader, personally involved in every area of the operation of the GGC. Reviews and contributes to GGC budget, operating the GGC within budgeted expense to revenue ratios. Inspects what is expected by completing the manager s store inspection list monthly. Is the catalyst for meeting sales and processing goals daily. Responsible for good stewardship of all donations, through proper handling and processing of incoming donation flow in and out of the GGC and ADCs in accordance with Agency policies and procedures. TLC is the key individual on-site responsible for loss prevention (safety and security) issues. The manager is responsible for checking all trash prior to being put in dumpsters or trash compactors and to follow up, personally or through ATL or lead designee, on loss prevention, theft or risk management issues. Prepares the monthly store inventory and spot Audits/cycle counts - critical SKU s for shrink. Personally, checks the sales reports, register journals, and bank deposits daily. Routinely audits register tills during business hours. Ensures there are individual cash drawers for all cashiers and that cash is counted before a cashier s shift begins and after the shift ends. Schedules labor and prepares timecards/sheets. Responsible for the review, audit and approval of time sheets. GGC staff will be scheduled to arrive one hour prior to opening and to stay one hour after closing or as appropriate for the Bookstore. The primary duties of the staff on duty at these times is as follows: Vacuum, sweep, and mop all floors as needed. Clean glass entry doors and mirrors. Sweep outside entry. Pick up parking lot. Clean restrooms. Clean customer service counter/register area. Put out ALL stock that is processed. Straighten store and bookshelves.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience in book business/retail setting preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of books and a love of reading.
  • Basic computer skills, including word processing, email, and Internet.
