The Beloved Book Co. is a cozy, community-driven bookstore dedicated to fostering a love for reading and storytelling located in downtown Garnett, KS. We are open Tue-Fri 9:30am-6:30pm and Saturdays 8:30am-3:30pm. Our space is more than just a bookstore—it’s a gathering place for book lovers, writers, and curious minds. We believe in providing excellent customer service, curating a thoughtful selection of books, and hosting engaging events that bring people together. Job Overview: We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Part-Time Book Seller to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who loves books, enjoys engaging with customers, and thrives in a retail environment.
Requirements
- Passion for books and reading
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Availability to work all hours of operation
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time and move heavy boxes of books
Nice To Haves
- Prior bookstore retail or customer service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in finding books and making recommendations
- Operate the cash register and process transactions accurately
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain store tidiness
- Assist with special events, readings, and book clubs as needed
- Helping manage inventory and restocking
- Provide excellent customer service and foster a welcoming atmosphere
