About The Position

Taxes 'N Books, Inc. is seeking a professional and friendly bookkeeper to join our busy tax business in Sacramento, CA. This full-time position involves working directly with clients and requires a strong background in accounting services, particularly with QuickBooks. The ideal candidate will be organized, trustworthy, and capable of managing various accounting tasks while providing excellent customer service. This role is essential for maintaining financial accuracy and supporting the overall success of our bookkeeping department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting services
• Proficient in QuickBooks desktop and QuickBooks online
• Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong customer service skills

Nice To Haves

• Preferred knowledge of a working balance sheet
• Ability to process Quarterly, Monthly, and Weekly reports for various business types

Responsibilities

• Perform and maintain monthly Bank Reconciliation and GL Accounts Reconciliation
• Prepare monthly journal entries for Fixed Assets, Investments, Notes Payable and Notes Receivable
• Support month-end and year-end close process such as balance books to tax return, posting payroll
• Participate and gather data for external monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting
• Generate financial statements and run data reports
• Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Support other accounting tasks and/or projects
