About The Position

The Part-Time Accountant position at Moonlight Lighting is designed for accounting students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in a supportive environment. This role involves managing financial operations, including balancing books, processing payments, and preparing financial reports, with a flexible schedule of 20-30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Current accounting student or recent graduate, with some practical knowledge of accounting principles.
• Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related field.
• Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Must be able to work in-office in Orem, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Balance the books: Ensure all accounts are up-to-date and accurately reconciled.
• Accounts payable/receivable: Process incoming and outgoing payments, track invoices, and manage bills.
• General ledger management: Update and maintain the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records.
• Bank reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for all business accounts.
• Prepare financial reports: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with budgeting: Help track company expenses and income, and assist in preparing budgets.
• Tax preparation support: Gather and organize necessary documents for tax filing.
• Other tasks: Support other accounting-related tasks and ad-hoc projects as needed.
