About The Position

Job summary: The bookkeeper shall execute and record all financial transactions in a timely manner and maintain accurate books within legal compliance. Hired by: Hired by Business Manager Responsible to: Responsible to Business Manager Supervises: None Evaluated: Evaluated by the Business Manager using the criteria established in this job description. Type of position: This is a non-exempt, part-time position paid at an hourly rate; approximately 15 – 20 hours/week.

Requirements

  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of the school and its families.
  • Work well with the teachers and staff of the school.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel applications.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online.
  • Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple.
  • Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, Word of God.
  • Believe and actively support the school’s Statement of Faith and Lifestyle Statement
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others (Luke 6:40).
  • Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church.
  • Sign and live by the school’s lifestyle statement as a condition for employment and continued employment in this ministry.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity toward staff, parents, volunteers, and children, and an ability to interact effectively with them.

Nice To Haves

  • FACTS billing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of non-profit accounting principles is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform payroll functions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Submit payroll and sales taxes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Perform account payable functions including reviewing and processing payments.
  • Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Prepare tuition estimates for enrolling families with properly applied financial aid and discounts.
  • Track donation and grant monies for proper reporting.
  • Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as-needed basis.
  • Prepare financial annual statements for all stakeholders including donor statements, tuition and childcare statements, W-2s, and 1099s.
  • Prepare and send donor acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.
