About The Position

We are seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to join our team at Elleard Heffern Fine Jewelers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills. This position offers a flexible work schedule based upon mutual needs and preferences, requiring 25 to 30 hours a week.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of previous experience helping manage the finances for a small business
• High level of accountability, accuracy, and efficiency
• Data entry
• Basic accounting knowledge
• Self-starter and able to prioritize work
• Commitment to client and company confidentiality
• Work well in a team environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with Sage accounting software or ASC/Craftsman is a plus but not necessary
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a plus but not necessary

Responsibilities

• Perform efficient and accurate data entry of accounting records while adhering to established standards
• Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy; alert supervisory staff of any discrepancies
• Monitor and manage accounts payable/receivable
• Assist in preparation and distribution of monthly and yearly reports
• Post daily sales, conduct month-end closing, and assist with year-end procedures
• Adhere to store procedures and learn general product knowledge as it pertains to the role
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Serve as a resource for the Owner
• Follow company policies, rules and requirements
