About The Position

The Bookkeeper position at the U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is a temporary contract role based in St. Paul, MN, supporting Stratix Labs. This part-time position involves managing various accounting tasks, including account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and accounts payable and receivable functions. The role is hybrid, requiring approximately three days in the office and two days remote work each week.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an accounting/bookkeeping environment.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Divvy/BILL software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and operate in a dynamic environment.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform account reconciliations and maintain the chart of accounts.
• Categorize expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts in QuickBooks.
• Prepare month-end close journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, fixed asset capitalization, and depreciation.
• Capitalize inventory and prepare balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow flux analyses.
• Enter bills into accounts payable software (BILL) and release payments.
• Prepare and bill order forms/invoices, monitor orders, and manage credit risks in accounts receivable.
• Perform cash application to customer accounts and collection of outstanding invoices.
• Maintain and review relevant bank accounts for cash management.
• Record payroll-related journal entries accurately.
• Monitor and pay state sales and use taxes and property taxes.
• Issue customer certificates for successful demonstration of sampling competency and training completion.
• Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, document management, and responding to customer inquiries.
