About The Position

Beach Accounting Services is looking for a qualified Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper to join their team. This role involves managing daily bookkeeping tasks and supporting administrative functions in a small, locally owned accounting business that has been serving the Virginia Beach area for over 16 years. The ideal candidate should be organized, self-motivated, and willing to learn, working in a high-volume yet laid-back environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 year of bookkeeping experience (preferred)
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliation
  • Proficiency in accounting software, especially QuickBooks
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
  • Understanding of GAAP accounting principles

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate financial records.
  • Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations, adhering to GAAP principles.
  • Utilize QuickBooks and other accounting software to generate financial reports and journal entries.
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and support administrative tasks using Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
