About The Position

Bookkeepers play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and smooth operation of the Rescue. Bookkeepers maintain accurate financial records, enabling informed decisions and maximizing resources for the dogs in our care. The Bookkeeper is responsible for categorizing all financial transactions: donations, expenses, and program revenue. The role involves reconciling bank statements and assisting with budget preparation. The Bookkeeper works closely with a team of other Bookkeepers to share the load and ensure no one volunteer is overworked.

Requirements

• Experience in Bookkeeping or Accounting
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Online
• Self Motivated - hours are flexible, but we dont have time to be reminding you to finish tasks. We need a self motivated person who can follow through with assigned tasks
• Willing to work in a team - we know that this role is typically a lone wolf role, but we have found that having a small team of volunteers in this role helps relieve the pressure from each person individually
• Meticulous, detailed, organizedyou know the drill
