About The Position

Provides evaluation, treatment, and management of acute and chronic phases of illness in patients at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Management includes assessment of physical symptoms, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and prescribing medications. Provides continued care throughout the patient's medical journey. Provides care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Includes weekend and holiday rotation. Performs bone marrow biopsies. This position includes a base salary and geographic differential. The total combined starting rate for the Advanced Practice Provider I (Grade 28) is $121,038 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The total combined starting salary for the Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30) is $133,124 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. To qualify for the Advanced Practice Provider II (Grade 30) the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time progressively responsible Advanced Practice Provider experience in a service line at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center or at a cancer care or acute care facility recognized as comparable by Roswell Park is required.

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner Educational Path: 1. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York; and 2. Current New York State Nurse Practitioner certification; and 3. Certification or eligibility for certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA); and 4. Master’s or higher-level degree in Nursing. NOTE: As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or other national certifying body recognized by Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) within nine (9) months of their appointment to this title as required by Medicare.
  • Physician Assistant Educational Path: 1. License to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York; and 2. Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission for Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) or other national certifying body recognized by the New York State Education Department; and 3. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Physician Assistant Studies; or 4. Bachelor’s or higher-level degree and completion of a Physician Assistant Certificate Program recognized by the New York State Education Department. AND NOTE: 1. As a condition of continued employment, incumbents must obtain and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of their appointment to this title.
  • Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
