About The Position

The primary duties of a Boilermaker are - must be able to repair and maintain boilers, condensers and pressure vessels. Must be able to layout, design and build platforms, catwalks, booms, etc. Changes basket and flat strainers and make necessary repairs to strainers and strainer pot.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Prefer 5 years relative industrial boilermaker experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Good troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting is a plus.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Good coordination and ability to understand and carry out all job instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand prints and sketches.
  • Ability to read and understand job safety reviews.
  • Knowledge of hand signals for crane.
  • Ability to work well with others.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain boilers, condensers, and pressure vessels.
  • Layout, design, and build platforms, catwalks, booms, etc.
  • Change basket and flat strainers and make necessary repairs to strainers and strainer pot.
  • Use issued tools needed to repair all equipment worked on, including impact wrenches, box end and open wrenches, drill bits, tube rollers, and respirator.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while working on any and all equipment assigned to repair or operate.
  • Wear a respirator at all times when changing cement strainers.
  • Use Fresh Air Equipment when needed.
  • Perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, heavy lifting, stooping, carrying, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, standing, turning, and walking.
  • Work in confined areas, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
  • Work from heights.

  • Certain roles at Firestone Polymers are required to be on Emergency Response Teams (ERT) to respond to any emergencies that could come up at the site.
  • Being on the ERT team requires passing a physical and additional trainings, including exterior firefighting, high-angle rescue, HazMat response, etc.
