The following is a job description applicable to our experienced Boilermakers. The role involves the operation and maintenance of boilers, pumps, and boiler ancillary equipment. Candidates must be capable of performing repairs on boilers and pressure vessels according to ASME Code of Construction and NBIC procedures. Responsibilities include performing hydrostatic pressure testing, opening and inspecting boilers, and identifying potential problems with boilers and pressure vessels. The position requires knowledge in water treatment and troubleshooting of valves and safety devices. Candidates must also be able to read and understand mechanical drawings and perform pipe fitting to ASME, state, and local codes. Attention to detail in completing work orders and strong reasoning and problem-solving skills are essential.

  • Operate boilers, pumps, and boiler ancillary equipment.
  • Perform maintenance on boilers, pumps, and ancillary equipment.
  • Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts, and miscellaneous valves.
  • Perform hydrostatic pressure testing of boilers and pressure vessels.
  • Open and inspect boilers, understanding their design and construction.
  • Identify telltale signs of potential problems with boilers and pressure vessels.
  • Clean fire and watersides and install new gaskets.
  • Perform refractory repairs and replacement.
  • Troubleshoot valves and safety devices.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and make modifications to equipment as needed.
  • Pipe fitting to ASME, state, and local codes.
  • Evaluate basic boiler room systems (steam and hydronic) and help solve problems.
  • Complete work orders, forms, summaries, and checklists accurately.
  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of technical school, community college, or trade school.
  • Five years of related experience in the industry.
  • Certification in the 6G welding position.
  • Ability to be certified as an employee of the company.
  • Pipe fitting experience.
  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $27 to $60.
