About The Position

The role of the Boilermaker / Welder – Foreman (BWF) is to ensure the field personnel are operating within the guidelines and rules as established by the company. The Foreman shall promote, enforce, monitor and assist in establishing any new or current policies for the Service Department. The BWF shall act as a liaison between the Service Manager and the Boilermaker / Welder personnel. In the event of a disagreement or a request for a meeting between the Service Manager and any Service Department personnel, the BWF and the Service Manager will jointly meet with the field person (unless otherwise agreed to) to resolve any issue. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the field personnel are operating within the guidelines as established by the company.
  • Enforcing all policies as established by the Service Department.
  • Answering questions related to the methods of repair, service, alteration or any items related to the Boiler Department.
  • Provide leadership in the day-to-day execution of all duties.
  • Act as a 'go to' person for the field service personnel.
  • Monitoring the vehicles related to the Boiler Department and working with the Service Manager to enhance vehicles and equipment.
  • Establish and provide recommendations for tooling, supplies, stock and equipment required by the Boiler Department.
  • Discuss issues with employees and work directly with the Service Manager to achieve mutually acceptable outcomes.
  • Visit job sites to ensure jobs are proceeding as scheduled.
  • Provide education and conduct meetings to achieve a higher level of ability in field service personnel.
  • Review, coordinate, and set up jobs with the Service Manager and dispatcher to ensure proper job setup.
  • Involved in the hiring process for Field Technician personnel.
  • Work with the Safety Coordinator to monitor field personnel for safety and incentive programs.
  • Repair and/or replace parts and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Complete work orders, required forms, summaries, and checklists daily or as required.
  • Produce detailed but concise quotations pertaining to customer requirements.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with regular hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites with out-of-area and possible overnight travel expected.
