The Boilermaker Superintendent position at Black & Veatch is a critical role responsible for overseeing construction activities at a project site located in Newnan, GA. The superintendent will interface with direct hire supervision and major subcontractor supervision, monitoring their performance and ensuring that project requirements are met. This includes overseeing craft productivity, safety compliance, and adherence to schedules. The role also involves providing technical direction to craft supervisors and ensuring that all project expectations are clearly communicated to the workforce. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, the Boilermaker Superintendent is responsible for maintaining a strong relationship with local unions, understanding union agreements, and ensuring that workflow remains uninterrupted at union interface points. The superintendent may also stand in for the construction manager in their absence, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the overall project schedule and requirements across various disciplines. The position requires a proactive approach to mentoring and training other discipline superintendents, as well as recommending training needs for team members. The superintendent will also be tasked with developing and monitoring schedules, conducting meetings with subcontractors, and ensuring that all necessary resources are available on-site. They will maintain daily logs, review timesheets, and monitor subcontractor compliance with scope and schedule requirements.
