About The Position

The position requires a skilled Boilermaker Helper or Boilermaker with a minimum of 4 years of experience, particularly in the Petrochemical or Refinery sectors. The candidate must possess all necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role, including the ability to meet physical requirements and work at heights exceeding 300 feet. Reliable transportation and the ability to pass pre-employment contingencies such as physical exams and drug screenings are mandatory. The role involves reading blueprints, identifying safety risks, fabricating equipment, and ensuring proper alignment and connection of structural-steel members.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Boilermaker Helper or Boilermaker.
• Experience in Petrochemical or Refinery environments.
• Ability to meet all physical requirements.
• Ability to work at heights in excess of 300 ft.
• Possession of all required tools.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass all pre-employment contingencies including physical, drug screen, and MVR.

Nice To Haves

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF'ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• National Center for Construction Education and Research's (NCCER) certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter.
• Formal/Technical education.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
• Identify all tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Fabricate equipment according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
• Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural-steel members using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, and/or levels.
• Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts, following blueprints and instructions from supervisors.
• Bolt aligned structural-steel members in position for permanent riveting or bolting.
• Pull, push, or pry iron/steel equipment into approximate positions for bolting into place.
• Cut, bend, and weld iron/steel pieces using metal shears, torches, and welding equipment.
