As the Boiler Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day maintenance functions that keep the park running smoothly. Job Summary: The Engineering/Maintenance team is responsible for opening properties prior to guest arrival, maintenance and repair during the season and closing properties at the end of the season. Boiler Technicians provide the physical and technical skills necessary to perform the operation, maintenance and repair of all boilers and boiler related systems. Why Yellowstone National Park? Requirements

  • Must have at least two years' experience in hands-on operation and maintenance of steam boilers.
  • A working knowledge of boiler water chemistry testing and treatment methods.
  • Must possess the analytical ability required to perform predictive, scheduled and emergency maintenance for all commercial boilers and boiler related systems.
  • Personal computer skills to work with Microsoft Office software suite and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in computer-specific software.
  • General knowledge of OSHA requirement and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to read, understand and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Capable of and willing to advance your boiler knowledge and expertise through on-the-job training and self study.
  • At least 19 years old and have valid driver’s license; good driving record required.
  • May require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Must be able to visually differentiate colors (required for boiler water testing).
  • Must be able to walk long distances over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess physical stamina and condition to withstand heavy labor related work in an outside environment.
  • Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time are required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing boilers and boiler-related systems.
  • Responsible for monitoring and accounting for fuel inventories.
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures for all company operated boilers and related equipment and systems.
  • Documents labor & materials expended in the maintenance and repair of boilers and boiler-related systems.
  • Performs chemical testing and treatment of boiler water, condensate and hydronic systems.
  • Responsible for job related material estimating and requisition requirements.
