About The Position

The Boiler Tech position at The Building People, LLC involves the operation, maintenance, testing, modification, adjustment, and repair of boilers and associated equipment and systems. The role is crucial for ensuring that steam pressures, water temperatures, and levels are maintained, and that all piping, electrical, and control systems are serviced effectively. The Boiler Tech will be responsible for making necessary repairs and adjustments to the facility's heating infrastructure to correct deficiencies and maintain operations according to equipment specifications and manufacturers' instructions.

Requirements

• High level of boiler maintenance, troubleshooting and repair expertise.
• Maintenance documentation completion and filing.
• Customer service skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, and familiar with CMMS.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Prior maintenance experience in a scientific laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, test, modify, adjust and repair boiler related systems and components at USMMA.
• Record systems operating conditions daily.
• Maintain, repair and replace components as necessary for efficient operation.
• Clean nozzles and oil filters.
• Repack valves and grease and oil motors and other equipment.
• Check and maintain motors ensuring proper impeller rotation.
• Check and clean traps.
• Adjust controls for safe and economic operation.
• Perform annual inspections, safety checks, and cleaning between May and September, including pressure testing the vessel and testing all safety components.
